Now Open for Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow - Green Jobs
BC Conference 2016
Now is the time to unite around a
shared vision for green jobs here in BC. And, there's no better way to
do that than by joining us at Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow the
2016 Green Jobs BC Conference which will be held on November
24th and 25th at the Anvil
Centre in New Westminster.
Jobs
Today, Jobs Tomorrow participants will deepen their understanding
about global trends and the opportunities for job growth in the
transition to a low carbon economy. We will also explore strategies to
green existing... jobs and workplaces. The conference will include panel
discussions, break-out sessions, guest speakers, a trade exhibit, and
a networking reception. Participants will also be called on to help
develop a plan to deliver a green jobs strategy for BC.
This year, in partnership with The
Tyee, we are pleased to present a special media workshop
on the morning of November 24th for journalists, journalism
students and other communications specialists on climate and the
transition to a low carbon economy.

Keynote Speaker

We are thrilled to present Bob McDonald at Jobs Today, Jobs
Tomorrow Host of CBC’s Quirks & Quarks, Bob is
loved by audiences across Canada for making complex scientific issues
understandable, meaningful, and fun, Bob McDonald is in high demand. A
fixture in broadcasting for more than 30 years, he is currently the
host of CBC Radio’s Quirks & Quarks--the award-winning science
program that is heard by 500,000 people each week--and is the author
of numerous bestselling books.
In addition to hosting Quirks
& Quarks, McDonald is a regular reporter for CBC TV’s The National
and host of the children’s series Head’s Up. As a writer, he has
authored four bestselling science books, and contributed to numerous
textbooks, magazines, and newspapers (including The Globe and Mail).
His latest book is Canadian Space Walkers: Hadfield, MacLean and
Williams Remember the Ultimate High Adventure.
