BREAKING: Unelected and unaccountable trade representatives are meeting TODAY to bring their dangerous Internet censorship deal – the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) – back from the dead.1
Back in November, one of the largest international uprisings in history defeated the TPP by forcing key governments to abandon the deal.2
But today, those countries who still cling to this disastrous, failed deal have gathered in Toronto like witches at a Black Mass. Their goal? Bring the TPP back from beyond the grave.
If... successful, they will create dangerous, burdensome regulations that will cost Canadians over $400 million annually, invite copyright extremists to launch multi-million dollar lawsuits against our government, and fundamentally tilt the playing field in favour of Big Media.3
Paov, we cannot let this happen. We cannot let the TPP be revived. It will criminalize our use of the web4 and give Big Media giants new powers to loot the public treasury. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
With your generous support, we will:
There’s no doubt the TPP’s tired mercenaries are going to kick their unaccountable lobbying into high gear. Big Media giants are all pushing as hard as they can to get this toxic deal brought back to life – and we need your help to be ready.
If resurrected, the TPP will create a dangerous new era of Internet censorship, put Big Media giants, corporations, and unelected bureaucrats in the driver's seat of our economy, and burden Internet users with dangerous, freedom-killing Internet regulations.
We simply can’t let this happen. Will you chip in $10 to stop the TPP?
We can stop this disastrous deal again, but only if you join us.
Thanks in advance,
Josh, on behalf of OpenMedia
P.S. Millions of people around the world did everything they could to stop the TPP, and they succeeded. Now we need to do it again. Please, donate what you can today to help fund the fight.
