We made history for animals in Parliament

r1 Help us put animals on the political agenda r33

Dear PAOV,

Canadians expect our government to protect vulnerable animals from cruelty. Yet more often than not, politicians ignore animals and instead do the bidding of the industries that profit from hurting and killing animals.

For example, the Agriculture Committee in the federal House of Commons is supposed to work on improving farming laws. Yet most people are shocked to learn that in over 20 years, the Committee never once considered passing new laws to protect farmed animals—even though hundreds of millions of animals suffer and die each year to become food.

This finally changed last month, when Animal Justice lawyer Anna Pippus helped make history by testifying at the Agriculture Committee.... Anna was one of only a few animal protection advocates invited to testify, and she demanded an overhaul of our outdated animal transport laws. Anna delivered the message loud and clear on behalf of compassionate Canadians: Animal suffering in the farm industry is a crisis!

Watch what she had to say—then please help us keep animals on the political agenda by making a special gift to Animal Justice today.

PAOV, Animal Justice is working hard to make sure politicians can't bury their heads in the sand and ignore animal cruelty. We know that animals will continue to endure horrific suffering if we don't pass better laws.

But we need your strength and support to continue. Can you make a special gift today to help us keep animals on the political agenda in Parliament?

GIVE NOW Thank you for your partnership with Animal Justice. None of our work would be possible without you! With your help, we'll continue to pressure politicians to end animal cruelty.
Sincerely,

The Team at Animal Justice Animal Justice leads the legal fight for animal protection in Canada. Our lawyers work to pass strong new animal protection laws, push to prosecute animal abusers, and fight on behalf of animals in court.
