Remember Site C Dam - VOTE May 9th

  • Print

To Farmland Protection Coalition supporters,

Site C Dam is the BIGGEST threat to agriculture and ALR lands in BC! Remember this when you GO VOTE one week from today. On Tuesday May 9th help CHOOSE who will govern BC.

Be informed:
WATCH and SHARE these incredibly informative DeSmog Canada videos on Site C Dam. The massive flooding from Site C Dam will cause catastrophic environmental destruction, a huge loss of farmland, and destroy many sacred First Nations places forever. There is no need for more electricity in BC, the huge cost of building Site C Dam will increase all our BC Hydro rates and waste up to 9 billion dollars that is needed in so many places in BC to do good, not harm.

Be an informed VOTER! Check out the candidates in your riding at Elections BC 2017 Election.and their party's platform before you VOTE.

We know the BC Liberals are FALSELY promising that Site C will be Powering BC’s Bright Future.

The BC NDP calls for the Site C Dam project to be referred to the BC Utilities Commission as it should have been long before the project was started, for a full assessment. The BC NDP platform says: "Where new hydro electricity is needed the BC NDP will focus on maximizing capacity of current infrastructure. Rather than new dams, we can generate new power by upgrading existing dams."

The BC Green platform says: "Strategy for CLIMATE ACTION: The BC Liberals’ strategy is fixated on LNG plants that employ very few people when operational, and the unnecessary and destructive Site C project."
And they ran a petition: TELL CHRISTY CLARK TO STOP SITE C

Sierra Club BC says in their latest email that "Site C is officially a major election issue, and the outcome of this election will impact our ability to protect the Peace.". Sierra Club is part of a nonpartisan GOTV to ensure people who care about the environment get to the polls, You can be part of the phone out!

The best way to create positive change in BC is if many more of us VOTE in this May 9th ELECTION!

Thank you for caring, and thanks for voting,
Farmland Protection Coalition,
