In a sickening act of cruelty, a dog in Saint-Paul-d'Abbotsford, Quebec was badly beaten and buried alive in a local field.
The dog was discovered by a man out on a walk who heard a desperate whimpering sound. When the man searched for where the sound was coming from, he saw a dog's paw sticking up out of the ground, and the soil moving beneath it.
After scooping away the dirt, the man found a male boxer clinging to life.
Officials believe the boxer may have been hit with a blunt object and strangled before he was buried.
At first, the dog's condition appeared to improve under the care of the Montérégie SPCA. But sadly, the dog ended up suffering a seizure and a heart attack, and did not survive.
