Help Equip Cuban Workers' Unions!
CoDev is looking for volunteers to assist with the logistics of preparing a shipping container with much needed supplies for the Cuban Teachers' Union (SNTECD)
and the Public Workers' Union (SNTAP)
CoDev is so pleased to partner with the BCTF, OSSTF and CUPE
in sending this solidarity shipment to Cuba.
Although relations between the US and Cuba improved under the Obama Administration, the blockade that prevents US goods from reaching Cuba and penalizes companies from other countries that trade with Cuba, was never lifted. Cuban partners SNTECD and SNTAP are in need of computers, printers and other office equipment as well as car parts in order to serve their memberships. Due to the blockade, they are unable to buy these products directly and have asked us for assistance.
With the support of the Canadian partners listed above, CoDev is planning to send a shipping container sometime in late October. Here's where you come in. We need a lot of help. There are any number tasks that we need help with from logging materials in preparation for Customs, to packing materials, to physically loading the shipping container, among other tasks.
