PAOV —
My dog George died a slow and painful death while I struggled unsuccessfully to free him. Out for a walk on a popular trail near our home, my husband and I had no idea the risk we were taking — until George’s head was caught in a baited kill-trap.
We were devastated by what happened, and shocked to discover that the trap that killed our dog was perfectly legal here in Ontario. Now, as another trapping season is set to begin, we can’t let this happen to another loved pet — or worse still, a child.
I need your help to call for improved safety measures and prevent more deaths. We need to get to 100,000 signatures to make this happen, and we’re almost there — please add your voice.
We’re calling for basic changes — many of which already exist in other provinces -- that will have a huge impact in Ontario, like setting a minimum distance from public trails and mandatory warning signs.
New seasons traps will soon be laid. I don’t want anyone else to hear their dog yelp, only to find they too have been lured to a baited kill-trap. r42 · /> · Privacy policy
