Support family farmers & ecological farming practices

Dear PAOV,

It’s that time again. Thanksgiving, yes. And also Farm Bill time. Every five years, Congress establishes the rules (and funding) that dictate how we grow food in this country. And the process for a 2018 Farm Bill is underway.

As we give thanks for food this week, will you take a moment to support those who grow it? Call on Congress for a Farm Bill that includes strong support for family farmers and ecological farming practices.

While passing a Farm Bill can seem wonky and slow, this critical bundle of policies impacts our daily lives in ways large and small. From food access and nutrition programs, to crop insurance and agricultural research, the Farm Bill determines much about the food we eat and how it’s grown.

Join us in pushing for a Food and Farm Bill that supports equity, thriving rural economies, healthy food and clean air, water and soil.

With the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition and many other partners, we’re supporting policies for:

    • A thriving, diverse next generation of farmers and ranchers
    • Healthy communities with strong farm-to-fork connections
    • Land stewardship and commitment to conservation across generations
    • Shared, resilient seeds that meet farmers' needs
    • A fair, effective farm safety net

Together, we have a chance to help shape the future of agriculture in the U.S. It's time to get loud.

Thank you for speaking up!
