My name is Denise O’Brien, and I’ve been an organic farmer in Iowa for more than 40 years. I’ve been a food and farming activist for just as long, working hard for the rights of women farmers, and building a healthier future for my children (and now my grandchildren, too).

Put simply, I’m passionate about good food and farming. That’s exactly why I support PAN, and today I’m inviting you to do the same.

I’ve had a chance to work closely with the good people at PAN over the past few years as a member of their board. This year, I stepped in as board president, and I could not be prouder to contribute my time, energy and financial support to PAN’s work.

The folks at PAN know that good ideas alone don’t make things happen. It takes building power from the grassroots up. For years, their organizers have been bringing coalitions together to win better food and farming policies in communities and statehouses across the country — including critical efforts on pesticide drift here in Iowa.
