Korean dog meat

PAOV —

South Korea is a major epicenter of the cruel dog meat trade. It is also hosting the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. As the games quickly approach, over 200,000 supporters have pledged to boycott the games unless the country bans the dog meat industry.

If you agree, join KoreanDogs.org activists in requesting South Korea ban the dog meat trade before the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Public pressure works. It led to the end of dog slaughter at Moran Market, Korea’s largest seller of dog meat. However, during the games, the Korean government is still allowing markets to slaughter dogs if hidden from public view. This secrecy speaks to the brutality South Korea wants to hide from the world.

Before being beaten, hung, electrocuted or burnt to death, dogs are placed in cramped wire cages, with no protection from the elements, or access to food or water.
According to Animal Welfare Institute, “The dogs raised for food commonly endure a lifetime of abuse and often are slaughtered in a manner that is nightmarish in its brutality.”
