Thank you so much for caring about how your food is grown.
I’ve been an organizer for more than four decades, and for many of those years my work has focused on protecting farmworkers and their families from dangerous pesticides.
My good friends at PAN have been right there beside us throughout our work, and six years ago I became a proud member of their board.
Today, the board will double your gift to PAN, up to a match of $4,000.
Almost every year, I witness either communities or farmworker crews exposed to harmful pesticides. PAN’s efforts support the rights of workers to be safe in the fields, the rights of their families to clean air and water, and the rights of all of us to food that is healthy and safe.
As a former farmworker myself — and a longtime organizer with Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Fred Ross Sr. and the United Farm Workers — I understand exactly how important this work is.
We need to grow our food in safer, healthier ways — and that means addressing the pesticide problem. I’ll be cycling off the board this coming year, but my support for PAN will continue for many years to come.
