The Council of Canadians Peterborough-Kawarthas chapter has been campaigning against the sale of Peterborough Distribution Inc. (PDI), the city-owned utility that distributes electricity in Peterborough, Lakefield and Norwood, to the provincial electricity transmission and distribution utility Hydro One since February 2016.
Justin Trudeau and Donald Trump talked by telephone yesterday and... agreed to push forward on a conclusion to the NAFTA talks.
When Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his priorities for the G7 summit in Charlevoix, Quebec this June, he said it was urgent "that the world comes together to fight climate change", but there was no specific mention made of the promise to eliminate billions of dollars of public subsidies to the fossil fuel industry.
