Radio stations are catching on

Paov,

Time is running out. It's been almost two months since Bell first asked the CRTC to consider creating a censorship agency in Canada and the public consultation on this closes in just a few weeks.

But we have good news! After we broke the news that radio stations were refusing to run our ads educating Canadians about Bell's censorship scheme, it went viral! Since then we've had two independent broadcasters come forward saying they are willing to air our... ads.

Will you donate today, so we can keep reaching out to more radio stations like this and make sure our ads reach as many Canadians as possible?

With gratitude,

Alana on behalf of the OpenMedia Team

Our last message about this is below.

Paov,

Radio stations are refusing to run our ads educating Canadians about Bell’s proposal for extrajudicial website blocking. Why? Because they’re afraid the ads would give the CRTC ammunition to remove their licence.

What a cold and hard reminder of why it’s so critical to keep the Internet free of censorship like this, which makes it easy for a small handful of powerful entities to police what we can and can’t say online.

This is exactly why we can’t back down.

Will you chip in so we can get our message to stop Bell’s plans for website blacklists EVERYWHERE? Every dollar will help us fight back.
