Last week, nearly 30 Council of Canadians chapters organized events from coast to coast to coast to promote water justice in Indigenous communities as well as in their communities.
I have just come back from a press conference on Parliament Hill and I am outraged.
The Council of Canadians London chapter and allies are marking a 'partial win' in their fight to save the Cardiac Fitness Institute that has helped heart patients with exercise, stress testing and counselling since 1981.
The Council of Canadians Hamilton chapter and allies made deputations to their City Council on March 21 - the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination - to ask that the City not rent or lease any city facilities to hate groups as well as to conduct a broad community consultation on how best to deal with the unwelcome appearance of hate groups in the community.
Last week was an intense whirlwind of travelling through snowstorms on Nova Scotia’s beautiful South Shore to attend meetings and public events, along the way taking in an overwhelming amount of knowledge and information about what the offshore oil industry could mean for our province, with a focus on what is at risk.
The CBC's investigative television program The Fifth Estate has reported, "Canada wasted $15 billion over the last five years on highly priced prescription drugs."
Ontario New Democratic Party Member of Provincial Parliament Peter Tabuns has introduced Bill 21, the Liability for Climate-Related Harms Act, 2018.
While opposition to the Kinder Morgan pipeline heats up, including the building of a Watch House, and arrests of over 170 people blocking a gate of the Burnaby tank farm this past week, Environment and Climate Change Minister McKenna is playing a game of political chess.
