Send Solidarity to Women Striking for a Living Wage!
r1
65 women at the Port Arthur Health Centre in Thunder Bay Ontario are on strike seeking a living wage. ...
Since April 9, 2018, 65 workers at the Port Arthur Health Centre in Thunder Bay Ontario, all women, have been on strike seeking a wage increase and secure employment. Get more info and send a solidarity e-mail HERE or read on.
Over 60 per cent of the workers are casually employed, including some who have worked consistent full-time hours for more than 15 years. Most of the workers experience not only low wages, barely above minimum wage, but also receive no health benefits and no set work schedule from one week to the next.
Unifor has been trying to get the employer to return to the table, with no success. So we are being asked to help put some pressure on the boss and get him to bargain a fair agreement and end this strike.
In just a few seconds you can send a message to their employer demdning that it return to the table and bargain a fair agreement. Just go HERE. A copy will go to Unifor so that the workers will know that they are not alone.
Thanks. And please, as always, forward this message to all your contacts.
In Solidarity,

Derek Blackadder
