PAOV — Delta Air Lines announced that starting on July 10th they will ban "pit bull-type" dogs as service and emotional support animals on flights. This policy has drawn intense criticism from animal and disability advocates concerning the legality of banning dogs medically necessary to assist people with disabilities. Join petition starter Sara in urging the airline to repeal its breed ban.

Delta recently announced a ban on Pit Bull type dogs, including service dogs and emotional support dogs effective as of July 10th, 2018. We are asking Delta to repeal their ban and work with experts in the field to comprise a solution to adequately address their safety concerns for their crew and passengers.
Not only are these new policy changes
illegal in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA), they are also incredibly detrimental to the people that rely on their service dogs medically and physically. It is proven that discrimination targeting specific breeds is ineffective at preventing dog bites. Canines need to be evaluated on an individual basis and service dogs must meet the highest requirements of training and behavior. The solution is in service dog regulation, not breed specific regulation.
Please join us in signing this petition to appeal to Delta to revoke their new policy. Delta not doing so will result in great detriment to those that need their service dogs in-flight with them, as well as the court systems becoming cluttered with cases against the airline for illegally disallowing Pit Bull service dogs on board.
