Send a message to Health Canada to ban all bee-killing pesticides as soon as possible.

Health Canada says it wants to ban three bee-killing neonics in the next three to five years. But we know Bayer is busy looking for ways to overturn the ban and finding alternatives to neonics.

A,

Last week, we got some good news: Health Canada plans to ban all major bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides in the next three to five years.

But we know pesticides... corporations Bayer and Syngenta are busy in their labs testing new toxic pesticides to replace neonics before the ban is in place.

And they have they have a track record of using dirty tactics -- right now, they’re taking the EU to court over their bee-saving ban.

Can you help put pressure on Health Canada to stand strong against the pesticide lobby and enforce Canada’s ban more quickly and on all bee-killing products?

Take two minutes to send a message to Health Canada before the public comment period ends in a week?

It’s never been more important to protect our bees. The United Nations warned last year that 40% of invertebrate pollinators – particularly bees and butterflies – risk global extinction.

Both France and the EU have neonic bans coming into effect this year -- so we shouldn’t have to wait a whopping three to five years for Canada’s restrictions to be enforced.

Your comments to Health Canada have already made a big difference. SumOfUs members like you were responsible for a record-breaking number of public comments calling for a ban on neonic imidacloprid.

Together, let’s make sure we’re heard just as loud and clear in this final consultation, that Health Canada has called “the last piece of the re-evaluation of imidacloprid”.

It’s important for Health Canada to hear that although banning imidacloprid and other neonicotinoids is important, we need to ban all bee-killing pesticides, and quickly. Bees are dying at an alarming rate while Bayer and Syngenta are busy fighting these bans all around the world.

Call on Health Canada to take further steps to save the bees now?

We are making huge progress to save the bees in Canada because of SumOfUs members like you and the bee-loving organizations that have been working tirelessly to stamp out bee-killing pesticides on our fields.

Since the start of the campaign to save the bees in Canada four years ago, hundreds of thousands of you have signed petitions and chipped in to support in-person actions all around the world.

Now if thousands of us, from all across Canada, speak up for our bees in this latest consultation -- we can give Health Canada the confidence to implement a bold ban on bee-killing pesticides, for good!
