CBC followed up on our investigation into the relationship between TransAlta and U of A this week

You might remember our investigation into coal company TransAlta's funding of research at the University of Alberta, which we published back in May. That piece was the result of our nearly two-year long freedom of information investigation.

Well, it turned a lot of heads, including some over at the CBC. And this week CBC rolled out its own story on how the university researcher worked with TransAlta to develop a presentation and talking points. It's such a zinger that it earned a 23-minute segment on The Current. Listen closely for a couple of shout-outs for The Narwhal!

In other good news, we are so thrilled to say that we met our fundraising target last week and will be able to hire a full-time investigative reporter in Alberta. We are finishing up the hiring process and can't wait to introduce you.
