Dear Paov,
You know Dasher, Dancer and Rudolph but what about their struggling caribou cousins?

The south Selkirk and the south Purcell herds are now locally extinct. Meanwhile, logging, oil and gas activities and motorized recreational activities continue to destroy and disturb the critical habitat of southern mountain caribou.
But there is also some good news. The provincial, federal and First Nations governments have been collaborating on finalizing conservation agreements that will protect the central group of southern mountain caribou and their habitat in British Columbia.
Many of you gave them feedback during the public consultation to make these agreements stronger. We’ve heard that negotiations were going well and would result in meaningful plans to save this species before it disappeared – forever.
Unfortunately, as we wait for the plans to be released, big industry is pressuring the government to stop the plans to save caribou.
For the holidays, we need the governments to step up for caribou. Which is why we are asking you to tweet for them! Tell the governments you support a conservation agreement to protect caribou and their habitat. Our easy Twitter tool helps you send a tweet through your Twitter account to the appropriate ministers.
