2018 was one of the most successful years ever for the BC Health Coalition!

Together we made huge progress on health care issues that matter most in the lives of British Columbians.
Thank you!

We need to continue to vigorously defend public health care by standing up to Brian Day in court and provide solutions that will ensure BC’s health care system works for everyone–not just a privileged few.

As a supporter of the BC Health Coalition, your past donations have helped to:

  • Pass a BC law to ban the for-profit plasma industry and protect our voluntary blood donation system.
  • Win a 50% reduction in MSP fees and a commitment to scrap the fees entirely by 2020.
  • Win a provincial commitment to protect people from illegal over-billing, and a crack down on private for-profit clinics.
  • Establish effective provincial strategies to shorten wait times for surgeries and diagnostic tests.
  • Work with Sanctuary Health to challenge the unjust barriers to health care services that many with precarious immigration status still face.
  • Ensure staffing levels in residential care homes meet provincial standards.
  • Advance the case for ensuring family councils can operate in all of BC’s residential care facilities with the support they need.
  • Collaborate with our members who represent and work with migrant, refugee, and people with precarious immigration status to ensure the Ministry of Health’s primary care reforms reflect the important needs and priorities of these vulnerable communities.

This all contributes immensely to quality public health care for all British Columbians.

Even $10 a month makes a huge difference in our ability to fight Brian Day in court and put forward policy ideas that promote solutions within the public health care system.
