Don't Frack Our Future

Don't Frack Our Future r1 ... Dear Paov,

Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, is one of the most destructive resource extraction processes on Earth.

Entire landscapes are transformed in the pursuit of fracked gas. Worse yet, it’s supercharging the warming of our planet and the climate disasters that result.

Our latest paper, Don’t Frack Our Future, explores the many impacts of fracking. From poisoning vast amounts of water to threatening the health of surrounding communities, it’s nasty stuff. And the threat of fracking is a global one. Fracking releases methane into the atmosphere — and levels of methane in the atmosphere are skyrocketing. That’s bad news for the climate. As each new study sounds the alarm, communities across Canada are standing up against fracking. It’s long past time to shed some light on an industry operating with little oversight.

Thankfully, nobody needs fracked gas. We have better options.
  • Read our report to find out more about fracking and how you can help stop this reckless practice.
  • Write the prime minister and your premier to ask them to ban fracking and abandon plans for liquefied natural gas plants.
  • Help get this paper into the hands of your friends and neighbours. Let us know how many additional copies you’d like at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Donate to strengthen our work to educate and mobilize people to protect the climate from fracked gas.

Our campaign to end fracking has been a long haul but we’re making progress. Together, we’ve helped make it an election issue. It’s only a matter of time until we stop fracking in Canada — and time is short. r0.
