Hi Paov,
Remember the plan that protects huge swaths of habitat for caribou to roam, restores their destroyed habitat and keep calves safe in their early years? It’s happening!
Thanks to the leadership and perseverance of West Moberly and Saulteau First Nation, their partnership agreement to protect caribou within the Peace Valley region was finalized today.
This is the first plan of its kind that checks the boxes needed for caribou to recover. The agreement was signed today by Chief Roland Wilson, Chief Ken Cameron, and the federal and BC governments.
Since I’ve been with the Wilderness Committee (three years), I’ve been emailing you, again and again, asking you to speak up for caribou. And you did.
You’ve written letters, filled in action cards, called politicians and wrote into the consultation for this plan — finally, all this work has paid off. So THANK YOU!!

Chief Ken Cameron told me that caribou used to be so plentiful when they migrated they looked like ants on the landscape. I look forward to the day when caribou will once again roam the Peace region in the thousands, migrating up and down the rolling hills.
