Hi Paov,
Those sneaky frackers are at it again.
Once thought vanquished, a proposed LNG plant on Tilbury Island in the Fraser River has returned from the dead. FortisBC wants to expand an existing storage facility there to produce five megatonnes of LNG per year to fuel ships and for export.
We need your help to stop it. FortisBC has applied to the BC Environmental Assessment Office (BC EAO) for a permit and they’re currently asking for public comment. Will you write in and ask them to reject Tilbury LNG?
It’s long past time to stop building new fossil fuel infrastructure. All the research shows fracked gas has no place in any future where we maintain a safe climate. And the good news is, renewables are already undercutting gas for power generation everywhere.
P.S. Can you join us this coming Wednesday, June 24 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. for a webinar with a Q&A about the project? Click here to register!
