The way ahead is wild. Will you join us?
Dear Paov,
The intersection of a global pandemic and unprecedented social and political upheaval made 2020 a year you and I will never forget. It has also made choosing the right path forward so critical.
Just like you, the Wilderness Committee has adjusted to dynamic new realities. Pivoting online, you’ve seen our live videos, attended our online webinars, received our email updates, and used online tools to take action on over 25 campaigns for wilderness, wildlife and the climate.
What’s ahead? The only thing certain about 2021 is uncertainty. But with your help, we will rise to meet it. As we turned 40 this year, it’s you who continues to empower, inspire and embolden us to persevere and change — to meet the moment.
Together, you and I stood up this year when government cut down laws protecting the environment and climate in Ontario. We celebrated with Indigenous land protector allies when plans for a new frac-sand mine were shelved on Hollow Water territory in Manitoba. We adapted our trail building programs to include land reclamation and cultural revival efforts of the Ma’amtagila Nation on Vancouver Island. Click here to see some of the work you accomplished.
Will you continue with us on a wild path? Your donation keeps our feet on the ground and bolsters every action we take — effective, grassroots action that protects ecosystems and uplifts people by challenging oppression. Actions that change minds and laws, and value the life-giving interconnectedness we share with each other and with nature.
