It seems like it was just 2020, but suddenly it’s nearly March!

Looking for ways to celebrate our 40th anniversary of wilderness preservation has been a challenge during this pandemic. You weren’t able to gather with us last fall at our Annual Open House to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments — and we can’t email you tasty brownies or samples of champagne — but your persevering commitment to defending wild spaces and species calls for celebration.

Let’s start with the 29th Eugene Rogers Award we presented to Camp Morning Star in Manitoba for their inspiring stand against a proposed frac sand mine. They established a sacred camp on Hollow Water First Nation traditional territory to protect their lands and waters. We give out this award each year to leaders who go above and beyond in their efforts to protect the environment and advocate for a better society.

A highlight of our annual open house for many of you is Joe Foy’s annual campaign video providing us with an engaging recap of all we accomplished together during the past year. This year you can enjoy it from the comfort of your own sofa! For those of you who can’t get enough of what you helped us achieve last year, our Annual Report is also available at your digital convenience.

One day we’ll meet face to face again to share brownies and champagne, but until then, thank you for being a part of all of this. For the wild,
