A future for southern mountain caribou

Caribou have traversed these lands for 1.6 million years, but today their future hangs in the balance.
Governments must decide between accelerated industrial activity throughout their habitat or robust habitat protection — we can’t have both. The path chosen decides their fate.
That’s why I am excited to share with you our latest paper, Southern mountain caribou: A fate bound to ancient forests. Throughout, you’ll learn of the remarkable history of southern mountain caribou, why they’re at risk of extinction and what we need to do to save them.
We’re getting down to the wire as caribou herds continue to vanish forever. We must choose the right path. We need the provincial government to stand up to industries that have gotten away with extinction-causing activities for far too long. History shows the successes we’ve had for caribou happen when we work together, guided by Indigenous leadership. So we need your help.
