Ramp up the pressure on old-growth forests r1 ...

Let your MLA know you won’t accept talk-and-log

Hi Paov,

The campaign to protect old-growth forests in BC is getting a lot of attention right now.

Because while the BC government has promised to protect old-growth forests, they haven’t changed much on the ground, which has led to a dramatic increase in approved logging over the last year. You know this talk-and-log approach is unacceptable.

A crucial action you can take from home right now is to request a meeting with your MLA about this crisis.

We know politicians only respond to public pressure, so let’s flood MLA’s offices with requests.

Will you email your MLA and ask them to meet with you?

Photo: Louis Bockner I understand that this can be intimidating, but you aren’t alone — every day, I get calls and emails from people who are asking, or have scheduled a meeting with their MLA.

And this is just a part of the momentum on this campaign right now.

From small demonstrations in communities across the province, to thousands of calls to the premier’s office, to blockades out on logging roads, to a jump in media coverage — people in BC understand that the government’s promises on old-growth require immediate measures on the ground.

If you’re interested in taking this step but have some questions, we’re here to help. On May 17 at 11 am Pacific Time, join a webinar where you’ll get a walk-through of the meeting request process and ask us questions. The momentum on this campaign right now is because of the dedication of people like you. By continuing to apply targeted and concerted pressure, we can make a difference for old-growth forests together.

Thank you for all you do, and good luck with your meeting request!

For the ancient forests,
