Stand.earth has made it our goal this federal election to put cancelling the Trans Mountain pipeline back on the political agenda.
How are we going to do that? By proving that a candidate’s position on this pipeline can win or lose them votes, and ultimately – their seat in Parliament.
If we come together and flood the inboxes of every candidate across the country with calls to take a stand against Trans Mountain, we can show that there is huge public support for real climate leadership. And that must begin with stopping this toxic tar sands pipeline in its tracks.
EMAIL YOUR CANDIDATESThe previous Liberal government would have you believe that the Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline is a done deal – but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The pipeline may be under construction, but it’s not too late for the federal government to halt the project and redirect billions of unspent dollars to accelerating a... just transition. President Biden showed it could be done when he pulled the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline earlier this year, mid-construction. And yes, contrary to what the Liberal Environment Minister recently said, there are other ways to fund climate action than building more fossil fuel pipelines [1].
