Hi Paov,
How’s the transition from 2021 to 2022 going? Feel a bit like we’re on a train that just won’t stop?
We have a couple of fun things from the end of 2021 we wanted to share that we hope will make your new year just a little bit brighter.
In a quiet, COVID-19-safe moment in December on Vancouver Island, my colleague Torrance presented the 29th annual Eugene Rogers Environmental Award to Pacheedaht First Nation Elder Bill Jones, an ally and friend of the Wilderness Committee for more than a decade. Elder Bill has been relentless in the fight to permanently protect the remaining old-growth forests on the Island.
Some of you have likely attended an in-person presentation of this award over the past three decades at an annual open house. This time you can check out a video of Elder Bill accepting the award, sharing his kindness and inspiring words. We are honoured to work with Elder Bill and grateful for all his support, friendship and teachings over the years.
Are you the kind of person who loves a deep dive into the details? Then you can read all of the successes in our stunning, photo-illustrated 2021 Annual Report.
