Save these last chance landscapes
r1 ...
This fight has hope
Hi Paov,
Here in BC we still have some of the most spectacular ancient landscapes and incredible wildlife populations remaining on the planet.
Wild nature is under increasing pressure. With each passing year, the impacts of relentless human-caused climate change compound habitat destruction from mining, logging, fossil fuel development and hydro-power mega projects.
There is hope — and plenty of it. Our latest educational report, Last Chance Landscapes, outlines expansive Indigenous protected area proposals ready to be designated right now. The only things missing are strong provincial legislation and government funding. Learn about the federal government’s promise to increase the amount of protected land to 30 per cent by 2030. Find out how you can do even more to push the BC government to meet its obligations.
ACT:
Write to BC's premier and demand a commitment to meet the 30 per cent protected area goal by 2030
ENGAGE: Check out our
online map of protected area proposals and provide us with any information you may have including, photos or map data to

GIVE: If you can
chip in, any amount keeps us on the ground supporting new protected area proposals across BC
We have big challenges to protect wild nature. Together, this year we’ll face, meet and surmount them. The climate and biodiversity crises require major action now. As BC and Canada grapple with the legacy of colonialism, it’s time for them to step up and support Indigenous-led protected areas.
Take action for last chance landscapes!
Protecting more nature is a critical step towards the future we all deserve.
