Jason Kenney’s smears and attacks set Alberta backwards
r1 ...
That’s why we’re taking him to court
Hi Paov,
As you know, we’ve spent over a decade taking on the tar sands and exposing the damage oil and gas companies operating in Canada are doing to the global climate.
That work got us named in Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s public inquiry into “foreign funding” of environmental groups.
But when the independent commissioner found we did nothing wrong, Kenney decided to make up new findings instead. He claimed the commissioner found we engaged in a “campaign of misinformation” to “cost Albertans and Canadians thousands of jobs.”
That was a lie. And we’re going to hold him accountable.
Here’s my gift to support climate action

Not just because Kenney is a bully and he needs to know he cannot use the powers of his office to target his political enemies. The truth is, his attacks on the climate movement make it harder for us to do our job.
When Kenney says we’re engaging in “misinformation” for calling attention to climate impacts of tar sands expansion, some believe these harmful conspiracy theories. His attempts to discredit us for shedding light on pollution from the oil and gas industry was pure climate denial — and it wasted crucial years in the fight against this crisis. We’re only now getting to the point of consensus about the urgent need to reign in Canada’s most polluting industry.
Kenney’s attacks on environmental groups stalled climate action. So when he decided to lie about the public inquiry results, that was the final straw.
That’s why we’ve joined our allies to correct the record in a court of law.
After years of unprecedented wildfires, heat waves, atmospheric rivers and other climate disasters, Kenney spent public time and money waging war against Canadians who are simply concerned about the unfolding climate emergency.
But it also shows how much our message needs to be heard.
Can you pitch in to help us defend the truth and advocate for real climate solutions?
Here's my gift
I am confident we’ll prevail in this lawsuit and put the fossil fuel industry’s decade-long narrative about “foreign-funded” radicals to rest for good.
Thanks for your help.
For the climate,
