We've been busy! Over the last four months, we've organized an Accountability Assembly to hold the BC government accountable to their seniors' care mandate, fought for a winning decision at the BC Court of Appeal on the Cambie case, and held a drug policy dialogue with the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition. Our work for this year isn't even done yet.
At the same time, we know that deep systemic change takes time, consistent public advocacy, and ongoing action. The best way to support our ongoing work for deep systemic change in public health care is to become a sustaining monthly donor of the BC Health Coalition.

We acknowledge our public health care system is at capacity and critically overburdened. Many of you have trouble accessing the primary care, surgical or mental health supports you need. We want our work to change that. We are already laying the groundwork for a new two year strategic plan that we will be launching in early 2023. Monthly donors allow us to do this behind-the-scenes work by investing in periods of strategy and relationship-building.
Your monthly donation will also contribute towards ongoing action to:
- fight the more than a decade long Cambie Surgeries case in the courts as it likely proceeds to the Supreme Court of Canada;
- address how contracting out to private clinics is diverting public money from long-term improvements in the public health care system;
- call for an end to profit-making in seniors care including increasing funding for home support so seniors can stay at home for longer; and,
- shine a spotlight on the drug overdose crisis and the policy actions that need to be taken to address that crisis.
