Hi Paov,
Everyone remembers Enbridge from the victory over its Northern Gateway pipeline long ago. But the company is still here in BC, and now it wants to resurrect another project that’s been stalled out for years — the Westcoast Connector Gas Transmission (WCGT) pipeline.
And it’s asking Minister of Environment and Climate Change George Heyman to bend the law to let it.
WCGT is the biggest fracked gas pipeline ever proposed in Canada. It would cross the province further north than the Coastal GasLink pipeline and it could feed the Ksi Lsims LNG project. It has had its permits since 2014 but they’re set to expire soon unless Heyman makes an emergency exemption to the law that limits the project to only one extension.
