PUENTE THEATRE
We
are beyond excited about Cruel Tears / Lágrimas Crueles, our
upcoming co-production with Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre:
Cruel Tears / Lágrimas Crueles - a Tex-Mex Musical
- A Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre & Puente
Co-production:
Lágrimas Crueles / Cruel Tears is a new adaptation by yours truly of the Canadian
classic Cruel Tears by Ken Mitchell and Humphrey & The
Dumptrucks. Our Tex/Mex musical extravaganza will be directed by Blue
Bridge's founder and artistic producing director, Brian Richmond, and will play at our co-producing
partner's new venue, The Roxy Theatre. In this modern re-telling of
Shakespeare's Othello, the Moor of Venice becomes a Mexican
truck driver who falls in love with his boss' daughter, presenting us with the
perfect foil to explore the tensions along the Mexican-American border. Lágrimas
Crueles / Cruel Tears will be our most ambitious production to date,
and we can't wait for you to join us and Blue Bridge at The Roxy Theatre from
April 29th to May 11th.

29th- May 11th @ The Roxy Theatre
