Stand up for the Salish Sea and demand climate action!

Peace Arch Rally Poster

Hello PAOV,

Excitement is building around the People’s Climate March, a massive climate action event in New York coming up on September 21st that coincides with the arrival of world leaders at the United Nations Climate Summit. The event will send a clear message from people around the world that our governments can no longer drag their heels on climate action.

The organizers of this epic gathering have challenged others to plan solidarity events on the 20th and 21st to make it a truly global event. And we have taken up the challenge!

Working with our allies Georgia Strait Alliance and 350 Seattle, we are co-hosting the Climate Change Knows No Borders Rally at the Peace Arch border crossing this Saturday, September 20th.

The rally is also in solidarity with the Treaty to Protect the Sacredness of the Salish Sea that will be signed in the following days in Vancouver, BC. This treaty between Canadian First Nations and American Tribes will show unprecedented unified opposition to the proposed fossil fuel projects threatening the health of the Salish Sea.

On Saturday, Canadians, Americans, First Nations, and Native American tribes will be gathering together in a massive display of solidarity. We will reach our hands across the border and pledge to take the necessary actions to defend our beautiful region from climate change.

Here are the event details:
