CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY WEEK - OCT 6TH TO 10TH
It's here! A week full of fun and informative events to profile and promote campus sustainability. Events include a talk on renewable energy, Bike to Campus Day, Love-A-Mug week, Earthfest, Dodge Ball in the Dark, and much more! The main events are listed below and get all the details here.

COULD BC BECOME A 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY REGION?
Oct 6th, 7 to 9 PM, Harry Hickman 105
Join Guy Dauncey from the BC Sustainable Energy Association, with Dr. Andrew Rowe and Sahand Behboodi from UVic's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, for a lively discussion on how BC could shed its addiction to fossil fuels and transition to a 100% renewable energy economy. BIKE TO CAMPUS DAY
Oct 8th, various times and locations on campus
Celebrate the many joys of cycling to campus by stopping by the morning Celebration Station (7:30 to 9:30) at The Fountain for free coffee, breakfast treats, quick bike repairs, enter to win some great draw prizes and more! Also a FREE noon hour Cycling Skills Seminar in SUB with complimentary pizza and everyone attending getting a chance to win a fabulous new bike (from Russ Hay’s Bike Shop). There will also be a bike gear sale in front of the Library, and bike repairs by donation in the Quad. There’s more: A guided campus cruise with SPOKES from 5:30-7:30 pm. "DO IT IN THE DARK" - OPEN MIC NIGHT
Oct 8th, 7 to 9 PM, Vertigo Lounge, SUB
Do you like live music? Do you like performing onstage? If so, UVic Residence Life and Education will be hosting the second annual "Do It in The Dark" Open Mic Night. Currently looking for musically talented students wanting to perform. Group and individual sets are welcome. EARTHFEST
Oct 9th, Noon to 9:30 PM, SUB
The UVic Sustainability Project (UVSP) hosts a day of speakers, workshops, music, food and other fun events to profile student sustainability on campus and in the community. Events will include presentations by the ECOSPEAK contestants, the announcement of the Sustainability Photography Contest and a live Skype chat with Green Party Leader Elizabeth May. DODGE IN THE DARK: HERE WE GLOW AGAIN
Oct 9th, 5 to 8 PM, Ian Stewart Complex Gym
Vikes Nation hosts second annual dodgeball in the dark game, complete with DJ, glow tape, glow in the dark balls, and lasers. Pre-paint party will be from 5-6pm at ISC room 220 (paint and glow sticks included for free). Dodgeball games will occur from 6-8 at ISC gym. Continuing Studies Restoration Program hosts a public talk the diverse types of rain gardens which help to manage runoff in the city. See website for more info and to register.

FALL HARVEST LUNCH
Oct 10th, Noon to 1:30 PM, Cadboro Commons, Campus View Room
A fall feast of local and organic delicious edibles and a chance to learn more about UVic's food purchasing practices that support local farmers and food producers, and be entered to win a door prize. $10 staff & faculty, $5 students payment by cash at the door.
