We need to raise $100,000 by December 31st to give thousands of people the support, training and technology they need to mobilize hundreds of thousands to vote together in the next election, defeat the Harper Conservatives, and move Canada forward.

Dear PAOV,

As 2014 draws to a close and we reflect on the year that was, we’re deeply focused on what’s coming in 2015 - a federal election that could be a turning point for our country.
In just the past month, nearly 15,000 of you have signed the pledge to Vote Together to stop vote splitting, defeat the Harper Conservatives, and move Canada forward. You’ve got Harper’s attention, and you’ve sent a powerful message to the NDP, Liberals and Greens that we want the next government to move Canada forward with real progress for our democracy, economy and environment.
It gets better. Local leaders have already run 30 information, organizing and training meetings in the swing ridings, and over 2,100 people have signed up to volunteer across the country.
Momentum is building fast, but with the Conservatives building strength in the polls and growing speculation that an early election could be just a few months away, we need your help to raise $100,000 by December 31st so we can take this campaign to the next level in January.[1]

Your donations will:

Build volunteer-run Community Action Teams in battleground ridings from coast to coast to coast. We know swing ridings can be won with strong teams of people knocking on doors, recruiting people to vote together, and then getting out the vote on election day. Teams are already forming in 15 key ridings and we need your donations to providing crucial training, communication materials and strategic support.

Create an online hub to map out the best ways for thousands of us to have an impact in the election. If we raise enough money to fully fund this project, then in the lead-up to the election we’ll be able to send everyone who has signed the Vote Together pledge up to date information about the state of play in their riding, and the best way they can have an impact - whether that’s in your riding, or calling into a swing riding to get out the vote.

Support hard-hitting campaigns to hold candidates from all parties accountable for real progress. We need to keep speaking out to show all the candidates that the Leadnow community is a growing force to be reckoned with. Regardless of who wins the election, we’ll need to take action together for real progress to strengthen our democracy, build a fair economy and do our part to stop runaway climate change.

We can do it - but we need your help to make sure we can support the thousands of people who are signing up to defeat the Harper Conservatives and move Canada forward with the training, materials and technology they need to get the work done.

The past few years under a Conservative majority have been tough. From omnibus bills and senate scandals to secretive trade deals and attacks on our democratic institutions, we’ve been stuck playing defense as the Harper government chips away at so much of what we value.
Instead of transparency, accountability and fairness, Conservative policies have targeted groups across Canada - including veterans, doctors and scientists who are now campaigning to defeat them in 2015 - and tarnished our reputation on the international stage.[2,3,4] It’s time to turn the tables and show them what people-powered politics can do.
We’re optimistic about the future because we’ve seen what we can accomplish when we work together. But we can’t do it without your help.
If we all give what we can, then together we can build a strong local organizing network in swing ridings, build a website that will give people the key information they need to vote together for change, and continue running hard hitting campaigns on the issues that matter.

2015 is going to be a watershed year. This government has spent years taking actions that have moved Canada backwards, and we need new leadership. More importantly, we need to build a critical mass of citizens who will continue working together to build an open democracy, create a fair economy and ensure a safe climate for all generations.
