Last night as we were handing out leaflets at Mulcair's event a person of Jewish background going into the pub stopped to thank us for what we were doing. She stated that the day before on Sunday, Dec. 14, Murray Rankin who went on a personal visit to Israel in June of this year did a presentation in the local Jewish Synagogue.
This gives us a good opportunity to either send him a letter or ask to have a meeting with him to ask how his trip went, why he went there and if he met with any government officials. At the same time ask him why he didn't attempt to go and visit the West Bank or Gaza and meet with Palestinians who are left with death, suffering and destruction in the hands of Israel's Apartheid and Occupation. If he met with any Israeli government officials did he raise the issue of:... human rights abuses, children abductions, torture, extra judicial assassinations, the illegal wall, house demolition, the blockade, broken UN resolution and broken promises?
For a politician as he is and for such a pressing issue as the Israeli occupation is did he not have a responsibility as an elected official to also visit with Palestinians?
We have to make sure we leave them no room for lies and deceit.

Sunday, December 14.
