We are calling on Canadians to peacefully protest Bill C-51 on March 14, 2015 in cities across the country.
The proposed legislation Bill C-51 should be of concern to all Canadians. It would clearly allow for the violation of Charter Rights, facilitate spying on innocent Canadians, and create a secret police force with little oversight or accountability.
We are demanding the government withdraw the legislation. We are further demanding that any subsequent legislation meet with rigorous public dialogue prior to being tabled.
[ACTION TO START AT CORNER OF FISGARD AND GOVERNMENT AT NOON!]
Sign-making supplies will be available at 11:30am, half an hour before the action begins. From Fisgard/Government (meeting point), we will march south on Government, East on Courtney, to the Courthouse. At the Courthouse, we will have a rally with speakers, singers, etc.
