New team member introduction
Hello! My name is Susan Kerr. I joined the Office of Campus Planning & Sustainability team as Sustainability Coordinator in January 2015. My background is in environmental sciences, environmental education and communications, and sustainable community development. I’ve worked in the environmental sector for over 10 years of which 5 years is in higher education. I feel honoured to assist in facilitating UVic’s vision and sense of place as a sustainability leader.
Canada Water Week
March 17-23 is Canada Water Week. It is a week-long celebration of water from coast-to-coast-to-coast, held annually in the third week of March to coincide with World Water Day on March 22.... Individuals, organizations and governments across the country are encouraged to get involved by organizing or participating in fun and educational events. Together, we can raise the profile and understanding of water! This year’s theme is watersheds. Check out Canadian Geographic’s website to see what local watershed you live in.

Cold Amazon (film screening & panel discussion)

The evening will begin with a screening of the short film Cold Amazon, a story of Canada’s Mackenzie River Basin. The film highlights the importance and vulnerability of this watershed through the voices of those who rely on its health and work for its protection. A panel discussion, including MP Elizabeth May, Dr. Michele-Lee Moore, Oliver M. Brandes will follow the film.

Stop, Look, Listen guided walk (All ages)
