Please help spread the word for this action on Tuesday morning, "welcoming" the chair of the National Energy Board to Victoria...

'Welcome' NEB Chair Peter Watson to the CRD
Tuesday, April 28, 8:40 AM

CRD Headquarters, 625 Fisgard St, Victoria
National Energy Board chair Peter Watson will be in Victoria to meet with CRD mayors as part of his 'pipeline safety' tour. Hopefully they will ask him the tough questions that need asking and be uncompromising in their critique of the NEB and opposition to the Kinder Morgan TransMountain project. Let’s make sure they do!

But why leave it to the mayors to deliver the message that “It shall not pass!”? First and foremost it is through the un-ceded territory of many First Nations that Kinder Morgan wants to drive their bitumen pipeline. Nations that through the Save the Fraser Declaration and the Protect the Sacred Treaty have declared their unwavering commitment to defend Mother Earth.

Secondly, as Grand Chief Stewart Phillip has said - with the usual twinkle in his eye - we settlers are apparently not going anywhere; so we have a responsibility to help protect the land and waters on which we all live.

Join us outside the CRD offices on Fisgard to “welcome” Peter Watson and then (if possible) in the public gallery to act in respectful witness to the exchange between the elected representatives of the region and the NEB chair.

JOIN, SHARE AND INVITE PEOPLE TO THE EVENT!
