Read our new report: Climate Solutions

PAOV,

Here at the Wilderness Committee, we know how critical it is to protect the environment by saying “NO” to tar sands pipelines and other industrial activities that threaten the climate. But it’s also important to say “YES!” to the kind of world we want to live in. Saying “YES” is something we don’t do often enough…that is, until now!

I am excited to share with you our latest educational report, Climate Solutions. This report tells the story of how communities right across Canada are confronting climate change, including:

  • The incredible growth of solar power, despite a major lack of support from the federal government
  • Forward-thinking folks in the Prairies who are challenging our assumptions of what “home” looks like
  • Rapid changes in transportation infrastructure that will keep us moving in a liveable climate
  • Canadian food growers creating a more climate-friendly path from farms to our plates

This new report has given us an amazing opportunity to highlight the inspiring ways that Canadians are rising to meet the challenge of climate change – and how our federal government can do much more to help move these solutions forward.

Producing this publication has also been a great reminder that some of the best climate solutions start close to home. Whether it’s riding a bike instead of taking the car, buying local food, reducing your energy use or taking a stand to stop tar sands pipelines and tankers, you can help fight climate change in your own way!

Please read the report, and then join us by finding a climate solution that works for you. Sharing this report with friends is another great way that you can support this vision for a healthier future in Canada. With the help of supporters like you, we can defeat big oil, gas and coal, and give these solutions – and many more – a fighting chance.
