NATURAL BUILDING WORKSHOP: Mud Fun
Last week's Natural Building Workshop was a great success with over 40 participants creating two earthen ovens, adobe outdoor kitchen, slipstraw and wattle & daub kiosks with living roofs, and earthen paints, plasters, and lime renders. Most importantly, the week brought all of us closer together in heart, vision, and action. Mud LOVE, y'all!
I am feeling empowered after this week, learning and building things and being a part of the community. I’m really looking forward to and feeling energized by everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement by what’s going to come next to everyone and seeing what’s going to come next for everyone. - Laura, Natural Building Workshop participant
Why do we love natural building? Natural building techniques consist of simple solutions that are replicable, accessible, and appropriate to just about anyone, anywhere. Instead of focusing on profits, inaccessible and costly technologies, and specialized skills, natural building embraces unique creativity by transforming what is already around us. Through natural building, we create a relationship between people and place. Natural building can help us to connect to our individual heart songs, and lead us to the healing of relationships with those around us, as well as with our planet. Want to learn more? WE STAND STRONG WITH #BlackLivesMatter #solidarity #wearewithyou

As an organization (of mostly white folk), we stand up, speak out, use our voices, our outreach capacity, and our love. We are sorry for the ways in which people of color continue to suffer in vastly disproportionate amounts than most white folks will ever know. We are sorry that structural racism is still so blatantly practiced in our country. We declare our support, and our desire to learn, and be as present as we can as allies -- as another collective of people who care deeply and want to express in whatever way we can, our love and our heartfelt grief at the countless acts of hatred-driven violence and misunderstanding. May mountains move. May restorative justice come to pass. May empathy grow and deepen. May love win. We believe it is possible, and we encourage all white-run organizations to take a stand as allies. Please consider using your privilege in service to all people. Thank you!
