Support needed for Unist'ot'en Camp
Seb Bonet writes:
As many of you know, Unistoten
Camp has issued a call for people to travel to their territory in light of
escalating RCMP and pipeline surveyor presence. For those of you not familiar
with Unist'ot'en Camp, it is an indigenous-led camp... set up on unceded Wet'suwet'en
territory that is blocking 3 proposed pipelines: www.unistotencamp.com
I'm organizing a vanload of people to head up there at the end of the month.
We've been asked to show up with funds and food to help cover costs while we
are there. So I'm appealing for help with that. If you're able to help, I can
accept e-mail transfers or cash in person, and promise to pass everything
beyond travel costs on to Freda when we arrive.
Unistoten Camp has also issued a call for a wide and diverse show of support. A number of us are organizing to do that down here. If you feel like connecting in or being kept in the loop, let me know and I will do that.
Unistoten Camp has been a source of inspiration to me for many years. I really hope we are all able to support these courageous indigenous land defenders at this time. And if you have contacts that you feel would support Unistoten, please pass on this note.
