Support McGill's Fossil Free Week

Today, Divest McGill is launching Fossil Free Week: A Week for Climate Justice at McGill.

This is an important moment for Divestment at McGill and in Canada. Students and alumni are camping in at community square on McGill campus asking for McGill’s Board of Governors commit to an immediate freeze on all investments in fossil fuel companies, and move without further delay toward a decision on full divestment. Check out this op ed in the McGill Daily for more information about the week.

Divest McGill first asked the university to divest its holdings in the fossil fuel industry almost three years ago, and the administration has continuously delayed a decision on divestment. This op-ed in the Montreal Gazette on the history of Divest McGill's campaign. After three years and little to no progress on divestment, the time for words alone is over. Now is the time for McGill to
take action.
