[Resilient Living] How Did Grandma Survive The Great Depression? Traditional skills!
Many of us have grandparents who farmed, homesteaded, or gardened. They grew up learning the skills of resilient living because they often didn't have a grocery store down the street. They knew how to put up food, make their own medicine, and identify the wild edible plants that grew where they lived. Somewhere along the way, as people moved from farms to cities, these skills and the knowledge embedded with them got lost - now it's our generation's turn to rediscover them.
Are you ready to step into your resilient life and experience living in community? Would you like to dive into a transformative program where you can explore your role in creating the more beautiful world your heart knows is possible? Are you yearning to learn hands-on skills that you can really use? We invite you...to connect with the land, your natural instincts, and a group of passionate peers and practitioners in the oldest mountains on the planet. Explore your purpose and path in the world at the Resilient Living School. Gain earth- and heart-based living skills. Learn to grow food, harvest from the wild, make medicine, go within, connect with others, and much more. Take the next steps toward your resilient life.
NOTE: The fee for the Resilient Living School was just lowered to make it even more accessible. For details sign up at www.ashevillage.org/resilient-living-school.

"After a week at Ashevillage’s Resilient Living workshop, I am a changed person. Having been a New Yorker for the past 16 years, I came in with very little knowledge about the field of permaculture, much less any knowledge about growing my own vegetables or living anywhere other than in the thickest of grids. I expected to gain an introduction to permaculture and some skills to get me started, but I didn’t expect to have such a joyful, tearful, heart warming mind and soul shift." ~Gracie, workshop participant
This 5-day workshop is an introduction to the skills you’ll need to create a resilient life. Dig deep into what it takes to build and maintain a vibrant homestead. Learn from Asheville’s top teachers, gardeners, fermenters, healers, and botanists how to create a thriving, regenerative ecosystem in community or at home. Learn about homesteading, gardening, foraging, fermenting, food preservation, herbal medicine making & more. If you are an aspiring urban homesteader, naturalist, local food activist, health professional, or hungry student, you will gain life-long wisdom in this week-long immersion. If you care about sustainability, why not go one step further?
>> Sign up now & save! Early Bird rate ends November 30th.
Dates & Location: April 4-8, 2016; Asheville, NC. Details & Registration: www.ashevillage.org/RLW
