[Certified] Two-Week Permaculture Design Course
[100 hours] Gain experience in systems-thinking and ethics-based approaches to observing, integrating, and creating thriving, bio-diverse environments for people, place and planet. You will learn about ethics, principles, observation, patterns, zones, sectors, micro-climates, site assessment and analysis, mapping and presentating — all as strategies for creating landscape and habitat design that enhances the long-term resilience, beauty, and quality of ecosystems. Upon completion of this two week intensive you will gain your Permaculture Design Certificate.

New Location: In 2016 the Permaculture School will begin with a 3-month residency based at Earthaven Ecovillage, a 21-year-old intentional community near Asheville, NC whose foundation and development has been built on permaculture principles and design. The Earthaven community is dedicated to caring for people and the Earth by practicing and demonstrating a holistic, sustainable culture.

Permaculture School is a yearlong program that includes:

The Communications & Administration Manager will work with Ashevillage's director and management team to create communication strategies and media content with the goal of telling compelling stories, building our networks, and filling our programs. This position also includes being the main contact for all inquiries, handling registration and sales, and the manager of a wide variety of tasks under the communications and administration umbrellas. This position requires stellar organizational and time management skills, top notch written and verbal communication, excellent attention to detail and initiative, and the ability to be flexible and work as an integral part of a team.

[Ashevillage in Paris] Director Janell Kapoor Represents Asheville at #COP21

Ashevillage Director Janell Kapoor shared the stage last week with her 'sheroe' Vandana Shiva as part of events organized around the Climate Conference happening in Paris. Here's a glimpse of her experience participating in an action at the Eiffel Tower:
