Dear Paov
Folks like you, who support Canadian public health,
are an incredible group of people.
Already, we've raised half
of what we need to get to Ottawa to meet with the new
government in January. Can you help us raise the second half, so we
can make sure BC is represented during these important first meetings
with the new MPs?
Even a few dollars makes a difference.

There is more information about the meetings with the health minister
in the email we sent last week.... It is copied below.

New federal health minister Dr. Jane Philpott says she’s going to meet with the provinces and territories about a new provincial-federal health deal first thing next year.[1]
To make sure it’s a deal that works for all Canadians, public health advocates from across the country are scheduling meetings in Ottawa with MPs and the health minister in January 2016.
The BCHC community ran a high-impact campaign in this past year to elect a government committed to signing a new health accord with the provinces. Now, we need to raise $3,000 by the end of December to get to Ottawa to meet with our elected representatives.
The Liberal party made some important health care commitments on the campaign trail - but there are serious gaps in their proposed plans.
We need this government to hear early in the negotiation process that Canadians are ready for cost-saving and life improving programs like a National Seniors Care Strategy and a fully-funded National Drug Plan.
We have to raise $3,000 to get two BCHC representatives to Ottawa for the January meetings. Even $10 helps. Click here to make your secure online donation.
After a decade of neglect by the Conservative government, and with its planned health care cuts looming on the horizon, there is a lot of work for this government to do to set Canadian public health care on the right course.
This first meeting with the new government is a chance to advance major issues - like seniors care and pharmacare -- that we’ve worked for years to achieve.
Please help make sure BC is part of this first important meeting.
Thank you for all you do to support and strengthen
public health care,
