A little about our webinar, and our presenter, Merran Smith:

B.C.’s carbon pollution is increasing. Between 2011 and 2013 it climbed by 1.5... MTCO2 Eq., equivalent to adding 400,000 cars to B.C.’s roads. However, B.C. has never been in a better place to reverse this trend and prosper while doing it. Renewable energy costs are plummeting, new clean energy markets are growing and B.C.’s climate leadership team delivered a set of recommendations to the British Columbia government on how to harness clean energy to drive down carbon pollution while growing the economy.

Clean Energy Canada's Merran Smith

The question is though, how will the government act on those recommendations?

In our Webinar, Merran Smith, Executive Director of Clean Energy Canada, will share her insights on global trends in renewable energy, B.C.’s climate leadership recommendations and what both mean for B.C.’s economy and job prospects. She’ll draw on her experience as a member of B.C.’s climate leadership team, Clean Energy Canada’s report, A Clean Economy and Jobs Plan for B.C. and Clean Energy Canada’s Tracking the Energy Revolution Global 2015 – a review of global renewable energy trends.

The webinar will finish with a Q&A session with Merran and BCSEA's own Policy Director Tom Hackney. Check out BCSEA's article on the Climate Leadership Plan, written by Tom Hackney, with our recommendations for the public's input.
