Last month, the World Bank and World Health Organization put mental health squarely on the global development agenda.
It was an unprecedented elevation of one of the world’s most pressing issues. Going forward, mental illness will be treated as seriously as diseases like HIV and tuberculosis.

But unless the work is predicated on human rights, the people who need it most will fall through the cracks.
